An open and unrestricted Internet has broken down international barriers and allowed cross-border cooperation to flourish but across the world data localization measures are increasing and challenging the concept of an open an unrestricted Internet. Roger will review the worldwide development of data localization laws, focussing in more detail on the data localization laws in China, Russia and India, giving guidance on the implications for international Tech businesses and commenting on the wider societal and cultural consequences of increasing data localization.
